BREITENEDER represents companies that have been harmed by the truck manufacturers cartel formed in the years 1997 through 2011. Five industry-leading truck manufacturers (Iveco, DAF, Volvo, Daimler und MAN have according to the European Commission secretly agreed on fixed prices and intentionally delayed the launch of new technologies and agreed on a settlement with the European Commission. According to the European Commission medium (weighing between 6 to 16 tons) and heavy trucks (weighing over 16 tons) are affected.
Furthermore the European Commission continues its investigation against Scania. Scania denies all allegations, but still reserved a provision. The investigations are still ongoing, here you can find the official Press Release of the European Commission.
The alleged failure of the truck manufactures to compete under regular terms, resulted in record fines amounting to 2,93 billion Euro. Up to now there is no information on the damage caused by the cartel. The calculation of the individual damage requires the disclosure of the findings of the commission, which has yet to be granted.
Our objective is to achieve an adequate compensation for companies, which are affected by the cartel. As the cartel has a European wide impact, we work closely together with law firms from all over Europe.
